I think its a waste of time as we have already a city council that can deal with whatever needs to be done why waste more money when it could be saved. Submitted By: Steve Prentice

As I work six days a week and am still struggling with bills. Why should I or anyone else pay for an extra tax that doesn't benefit us in any way. Submitted By: John widger

It is not necessary and a waste of money. Council tax is high enough without trying to sting us for more - to cover something that doesn't benefit anyone. Submitted By: Miss J. Gould

When the Southsea Council was active, my Tax was approx £25 per year extra. For this the only + was that the Office was within walking distance of my flat, and I collected my Travel Tokens myself. I feel that this was a bad deal. I was born in the Retreat, Southsea 85 years ago, I have been quite content with the treatment I have always received from the Portsmouth Council. I do not see why a small section of the local residents should keep trying to retain the Southsea Council. Perhaps they think it gives us extra status RUBISH. Let us all vote for it to be abolished, and get rid of this extra burden forever. Barbara Edwards Submitted By: Barbara Edwards

Council Tax is hard enough to pay as it is! Good on the Councillors to bring it to my attention that I could be paying twice. This the sort of honesty and integrity that MP's could learn from. Submitted By: Ross Davies

I am fed up with paying both Portsmouth and Southsea Council Tax, so Southsea Town Council is a no go for me (an OAP). Portsmouth City Council for me - now and always. Submitted By: Lawrence White

How many times do we have to say NO? I am disgusted that the minority are so pushy and self serving, and appear to get their own way. SAY NO ONCE AND FOR ALL. Submitted By: Maureen Moses

I can't afford them, they are too expensive and appear to be of very little use. Submitted By: Sally Kime
