I was obviously in the misunderstanding that this farce had already been voted out, twice previously. So waste our money further Submitted By: Mrs Holgate

It is enough of a struggle to pay the ordinary council tax on a pension without the added burden of another tax without ANY benefit. Submitted By: Mr & Mrs Bromfield

The Southsea T.C. was not set up by universal suffrage. There has already been a referendum rejecting the S.T.C.. This is another example that democracy in this country is only an illusion. I have been to the S.T.C. for advice on a number of matters and they were totally unable to advise me, but the Portsmouth City Council at once gave me the information I was seeking. The S.T.C. is an ego trip for a group of local farts. I will definitely be voting - NO Submitted By: Victor Anson

I would like to know why such poor vision prevailed in the planning and implementation of Southsea Town council and why the execution was so poor as to waste a significant amount of valuable economic resources - tax payers money. The money could have been far better spent. This sort of waste in times when so many important interests require money is unforgivable. There are issues of serious incompetence here, somebody must be held to account in taxpayers interest. Submitted By: Adam Leggate

Although there are some issues in Southsea that do need urgent redress (for example the beautiful buildings that have been converted into leased flats and are being neglected by absentee landlords), since I don't believe Southsea Town Council has the motivation, inclination or desire to be involved in a proactive manner with local issues - I must vote NO! I can't believe that there is still the idea out there that there can be taxation without representation! Politics can only be respected if there is some form of accountability. The recent MP's expenses fiasco has contributed to an understandable disaffiliation with politics. This Southsea Town Council nonsense will simply compound the image of indulgent and self serving postulation without any practical action. Submitted By: Jane Badstevener

It was never a good idea, I never wanted it, always voted against it, 10 years on we've still got it. Far from seeing improvements, the last ten years has seen a constant erosion of standards and responsibility - and the loss of the community spirit that previously made Southsea a village within the city. STC: absolute waste of our money, get rid of it ASAP. Submitted By: Dom Walton

It is ridiculous that in these times that we should be expected to pay MORE! Submitted By: Gareth Hutchinson
